When your realtor talks about ‘decluttering’ your home, don’t be offended! Remember you are selling your home and it is important prospective buyers be able to envision their own possessions in your home. A surprising number of buyers are not able to look beyond your furniture and your collections. If you’re having problems identifying ‘clutter’ ask a trusted friend to help or hire a professional home stager.

REPAIRS

Repair anything broken and clean everything. It is amazing how a stain on the carpet or a hole in the wall can distract and turn off a buyer.

Consider making major repairs or replacement of items (such as a roof) if they are likely to be identified in a home inspection and lead to a request for a price adjustment.
